Upgrading to an iPhone from an Android phone
If you are making the upgrade to an iPhone from an Android phone, the process is now much more streamlined that it previously was due migration tool from Apple!
Contained within the Android Play Store there is a brand new ‘Move to iOS’ app that handles most of the hard work for you. Primarily, when you start up a new iPhone there are few options – start as a new iPhone, transfer information from an iTunes backup, an iCloud Backup or, now, transfer information from and Android device.
In order to get the information across, you must firstly download and open the app on Android. Then, select the transfer from Android option on the iPhone and this will then show a code on the iPhone screen, switch to the android phone and follow the next button and it will ask you to enter in the code displayed on the iPhone’s screen.
Once the codes have been used to confirm and establish a connection between the two devices the app will prompt you and ask what data you want to transfer. You can select various areas of data to transfer from the camera roll, messages or contacts as examples. Once the transfer has finished you are able to finish setting up the iPhone as normal with all of your information in the relevant places.
This app definitely helps when moving to a new system and saves the frustration of manually migrating information, even transferring messages which are usually lost when changing phones!
