In the new operating system iOS 11 for iPad and iPhone, it is now possible to customise the control centre. For example, you now have the ability to add a magnifying glass straight to the lock screen.
To do this, on your device go to Settings, Control Centre, Customise Controls and you will see all the things you can add, one of which is the magnifying glass.
Once added, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen as normal and it will appear as an option.
